Olivier Raineteau work aims at better understanding the capacity of the central nervous system to heal and repair after an injury. In the recent years his research developed at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich has focused on the signals and transcription factors that influence stem cells proliferation, differentiation and fate acquisition in the postnatal forebrain. He has recently obtained a Research Director position at INSERM, and will further develop his research at the Stem Cell and Brain Research Institute in Lyon. More

Guillaume works aims at testing the competence of postnatal forebrain neural stem cells. He is using a combination of microdissection and transplantation approaches to expose selected population of forebrain stem and progenitor cells to different environments, and to compare their differentiation potential.

Vanessa PhD's work (University Medical Centre, Utrecht, The Netherlands) aimed at studying the potential of mesenchymal neural stem cells to protect and regenerate the forebrain following early life ischemia/hypoxia. She now joined the lab to investigate the response of defined progenitor populations to neonatal hypoxia, and if their participation to tissue repair can be encouraged by pharmacological stimulation of signalling pathways.

Diane Angonin

Diane combines fate mapping techniques with targeted lesions of defined olfactory bulb neuronal subtypes, in order to test the regenerative potential of early postnatal subventricular zone progenitor populations. She is also interested in testing the effects of canonical Wnt stimulation to promote dorsal progenitor fates (oligodendroglial and glutamatergic) in health and diseases.

Elodie's work aims at manipulating expression of transcription factors which expression is enriched in specific walls of the postnatal lateral ventricle in order to investigate their role in the specification of distinct neuronal subtypes after birth. Her work also allow testing the "plastic potential" of postnatal NSCs, that is to say their capacity to change fate upon manipulation of single transcription factors.

Aymeric Bianco Pelle

Aymeric is coming from e-artsup, a French private university created in 2001 and specialized in digital creativity and multimedia. He has joined the lab to develop innovative 3D representations of the germinal regions of the forebrain (see examples). This work will be developed in collaboration with ICAP.
